Save a spreadsheet find only when its category, useful photos, sizing, price context, possible shipping weight, and source details give you a clear reason to keep researching it.
The seven-point checklist
- The item belongs in the category I am browsing.
- Photos show the details that matter for this product type.
- Sizing, measurements, or fit notes are visible when needed.
- Price makes sense beside similar finds.
- Shipping weight does not ruin the value.
- The row is not just hype or a vague label.
- I can explain why I would save this find.
Score your row
| Checks passed | Verdict | Next move |
|---|---|---|
| 6–7 | Strong shortlist candidate | Open the source and confirm current details. |
| 4–5 | Research more | Resolve the missing photo, size, source, or weight question. |
| 2–3 | Weak row | Compare with clearer rows before spending more time. |
| 0–1 | Remove for now | Do not let a thumbnail or low price carry the decision. |
QC photos by category
Shoes
Side profiles, toe, heel, sole, stitching, size tag, and insole length. A “QC photo finder” is only useful if the photos answer those questions.
Clothing
Front, back, collar, cuffs, hems, seams, labels, fabric surface, and actual measurements rather than a size letter alone.
Bags & accessories
Dimensions, interior, corners, handles, closures, edges, hardware, and removable pieces.
Electronics
Specifications, ports, plug type, labels, included parts, and compatibility. Photos cannot establish long-term function or support.
Good row example
A hoodie row uses a plain description, shows front/back/cuffs/seams, includes chest and length measurements for several sizes, links to a matching source page, and gives enough information to compare price and likely weight with two similar rows. It scores seven because every save decision has evidence.
Weak row example
A sneaker row says “top find,” uses one product image, omits size guidance and sole views, and has a shortened link with an unclear destination. The low listed price is its only advantage. Remove it until the missing details appear.
One-sentence save rule
Save the row only if you can finish this sentence: “I am keeping this because it answers ___ better than the similar rows.”
What to do next
If the score is strong, check the current external page yourself. If shipping weight is the remaining uncertainty, use the weight guide. If the photos or source still feel vague, read the safety notes and move on without forcing the row into your shortlist.
